We – Slovenian Mowers and Harvester Society came up with the idea for our society in Austria and Switzerland, where mowing is popular among old and young. Mowers are competing there at various events, thus preserving the customs of our fathers and grandfathers. In Slovenia most familiar are local competitions, competitions among cooperatives and mowing at farm games. The goal of our society, which has expanded greatly since its founding session, is to make grass cutting a well known event and to attract people from all over the country. From a few small meetings and one national competition we moved on to several annual meetings, numerous competitions in domestic as well as foreign meadows. We have made strong friendships, personal acquaintances and we could say that we have become a big family.
